I get so confused with this series as I often see it in the anime section, but I think this is where it belongs??
So anyway I LOVE this series. I'm currently re watching it at the moment with my boyfriend and even he's enjoying it (he doesn't usually watch
cartoons - aside from Family Guy). I'm not sure what it is exactly but this show just gets people hooked. Maybe because it combines elements of both
western and eastern techniques/humour?
My favourite character, out of the lovely cast, has got to be the tea loving Iroh. I love his random proverbs and his calm, ambivalant nature that
offsets his tempestuous nephew. I'm considering starting on a shrine for him at some stage in the near future, but we'll see. 
I know there are other fans here, but who else watches/loves this series? Fave characters/moments? Why do you think it's so popular? Discuss discuss!

I know that there's a whole bunch of us here at Amassment that absolutely love Avatar (we used to hijack Amassment chats with Avatar talk, leaving
Todd out hahaha). I'm not too sure what gets people hooked on the show either, considering it's a show for little kids.....but to me the trials and
tribulations that the characters go through (namely Zuko) seem more mature than the targeted audience age.
My favorite character is definitely Zuko, which I'm sure is a sentiment shared by a whole bunch of people. Azula is also a fascinating character for
me, despite her insanity.....

It's from Nickelodeon so it's technically not anime, but the style is of "anime quality". Many American cartoons have very simple story lines so it's
good to see one with a good story.
I think what catches people's attention is the story line. It has a lot of interesting and different character, someone for everyone to like. The
story is fun and full of adventure.
My favorite is also Zuko, you're right a lot of us like him. XD I like both Zutara and Toko, (just not at the same time XD).
I think they sort of hinted at a sequel or more like a special or a movie (aside from the live one) or something after the series. It was left with
some loose ends that I want to see be tied up eventually.

So, I go to a REALLY nerdy college. Like, it's all engineers and computer science majors. So, when they offer Northern Shaolin Martial Arts as a gym
class... it totally ends as Fire Bending Class.
Anyway, I like Avatar, I just need to watch it through in order.

I liked it when I first saw it but my attraction has dwindled over the years for several reasons. Still, Momo is adorable as anything. Flying lemur =

I didn't think too much of Avatar at first, then I started liking it around the middle of the first book and love it ever since.

Hey you guys, I went and saw the movie and did a little review of it: http://daysees.livejournal.com/34820.html
I know that most fans were boycotting it (and you're probably tired of reading reviews of how bad it is). I personally like Shyamalan which is why I
went to go see it (OK and Uncle Iroh is the best character in the series!) and I thought I would share. If you're a fan you'd probably hate this movie
and pretend that it never existed. XD;
